The Corn Exchange, Leeds
A Grade I listed shopping centre in Leeds city centre. We completed a fire risk assessment of all areas of the building to ensure that the atrium fire strategy was operating correctly under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
The Residence, York
A Grade II listed residential building, which was formerly the Terry’s Chocolate factory. We have completed a Type 1 fire risk assessment annually at the development for a number of years.
Merlin Wharf, Leicester
A purpose-built residential development of 384 private apartments. We have completed a Type 3 fire risk assessment annually at the development since it was constructed, including a pre-occupation fire risk assessment following Winvic completing construction in 2021.
Vardo Restaurant, London
A new restaurant forming part of the Duke of York Square re-development with the UK’s first fully retractable glazed wall. The building contains a basement level, ground floor and rooftop terrace. A detailed fire safety strategy was produced to meet the functional requirements of the Building Regulations 2010.
Crispin Lofts, Leeds
A private residential development of 101 residential apartments. An existing building detailed fire safety strategy was produced to ensure that the development met the Building Regulations at the time of construction and the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
23 High Petergate, York
A Grade I listed building, converted to a boutique hotel in York city centre. A detailed fire safety strategy was produced to meet the functional requirements of the Building Regulations 2010. Due to the Grade I listed status of the building, there were challenges with what could be achieved architecturally. A pressurisation system was designed for the main stair to ensure that smoke would not prevent guests from evacuating and allow fire-fighters to easily access the building
The Bear, London
A mixed use development consisting of a church building and a residential building containing private residential apartments. A detailed fire safety strategy was produced to meet the functional requirements of the Building Regulations 2010. Radiation calculations were performed for the open plan apartment designs to ensure that occupants would be exposed to conditions commensurate or improved to that of prescriptive requirements in a fire.
Manor Chare, Newcastle Upon Tyne
A purpose-built residential development of 58 private apartments. A Fire Risk Appraisal of the External Walls was undertaken to analyse the risk of external fire spread on the building. This involved an intrusive investigation in the external wall systems to assess the risk.
17 Duke of York Street, London
A mixed use development in central London that includes retail space, office space and private residential accommodation. A Fire Risk Appraisal of the External Walls was undertaken to analyse the risk of external fire spread on the building. This involved an intrusive investigation in the external wall systems to assess the risk.
Simpsons Fold, Leeds
A Grade II listed residential development of 47 private apartments. A Fire Risk Appraisal of the External Walls was undertaken to analyse the risk of external fire spread on the building. This involved an intrusive investigation in the external wall systems to assess the risk.
The Elements, Sheffield
A student residential development containing a mixture of studio and cluster apartments in Sheffield city centre. Intrusive investigations were undertaken in the external wall systems and an alteration to the fire evacuation strategy was introduced as an alternative to remediating minor fire safety issues in the cladding systems.
Aspect 14, Leeds
A residential development of 262 private apartments. Intrusive investigations and subsequent remediation works were undertaken on external cladding systems. The terracotta tile cladding system was removed and replaced with a similar system, which incorporated non-combustible insulation and cavity barriers in the necessary locations
Kent Street Baths, Birmingham
The development is home to four residential blocks that reach a maximum of 18 storeys and contain 406 purpose built apartments. We ensured that the external walls of all buildings on the development were constructed as per current Building Regulations and in accordance with the performance specification in the detailed fire strategy Numerous site visits were completed along with construction site reports and advice for the building contractors
Bauhaus, Manchester
A residential development of 64 private apartments. Intrusive investigations and subsequent remediation works were undertaken on external cladding systems. All cladding systems on the external walls were removed and re-instated including the masonry brickwork system. Due to the way the existing building was poorly constructed, this was a complex project from high level design all the way to final construction.
Aspect 3, Sheffield
Aspect 3 comprises of 5 separate accommodation blocks containing a total of 417 student bedrooms. Intrusive investigations and subsequent remediation works were undertaken on external cladding systems. All high pressure laminate and curtain wall cladding systems were removed and replaced with non-combustible alternatives.
Beetham Tower & No.1 Deansgate
We have recently completed external fire spread assessments for the iconic Beetham Tower and No.1 Deansgate in Manchester. No.1 Deansgate is the tallest all steel residential building in the United Kingdom standing at 62 metres, whilst Beetham tower is the second tallest building in Manchester standing at 169 metres. The external envelope of these buildings has been deemed safe and meets the current Government guidance.
