Bespoke Fire Safety Strategies
The FirePrevent principle is all about crafting custom fire safety strategies that prioritise both safety and functionality. Each strategy is bespoke to the client’s unique building requirements to promise the desired solution while ensuring operational, design quality and compliance measures are met.
Tailored Solutions for Every Challenge
Whether it’s a straightforward adherence to recognised design standards and the functional requirements of Part B of the Building Regulations, or a nuanced approach addressing complex design challenges, our solutions are comprehensive and flexible, without compromising on fire safety standards.
For existing buildings, we provide fire safety strategies as part of a Building Safety Case report. For new constructions or refurbished/extended developments subject to current Building Regulations, our expertise ensures seamless approval processes and optimal safety measures.
Our recent projects
The Bear, London
A mixed use development consisting of a church building and a residential building containing private residential apartments. A detailed fire safety strategy was produced to meet the functional requirements of the Building Regulations 2010. Radiation calculations were performed for the open plan apartment designs to ensure that occupants would be exposed to conditions commensurate or improved to that of prescriptive requirements in a fire.
23 High Petergate, York
A Grade I listed building, converted to a boutique hotel in York city centre. A detailed fire safety strategy was produced to meet the functional requirements of the Building Regulations 2010. Due to the Grade I listed status of the building, there were challenges with what could be achieved architecturally. A pressurisation system was designed for the main stair to ensure that smoke would not prevent guests from evacuating and allow fire-fighters to easily access the building
The Elements, Sheffield
A student residential development containing a mixture of studio and cluster apartments in Sheffield city centre. Intrusive investigations were undertaken in the external wall systems and an alteration to the fire evacuation strategy was introduced as an alternative to remediating minor fire safety issues in the cladding systems.
